Zero no Tsukaima 20th Anniversary Project Launched: Major Exhibition to be Held in Tokyo
Zero no Tsukaima (The Familiar of Zero) anime's 20th anniversary project includes a major exhibition at Sunshine City in Tokyo's Ikebukuro district. Taking place on the second floor of the culture center building from August 10 to 30, 2025, the event offers an unmissable opportunity for the series' loyal fan base.
The light novel series, written by Noboru Yamaguchi and illustrated by Eiji Usatsuka, was first adapted to screen in 2006. Telling the comedic and magical relationship between Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière and Saito Hiraga, the production quickly became a global phenomenon. Unfortunately, author Yamaguchi passed away in 2013, but the series' legacy continues through four anime seasons, OVAs, and various spin-offs.
One of the most striking pieces of the exhibition will be a life-size replica of the series' talking sword, Derflinger. Fans will have the chance to closely examine this iconic item and take photos. Additionally, original drawings, character designs, and rare documents related to the animation process will be displayed. The event is also expected to attract great interest from foreign tourists visiting Tokyo during the summer.
