Four New Manga Announcements from Dark Horse Comics: Asobi Asobase and Suicide Island Are Coming in English

Dark Horse Comics, one of the established publishers in the manga world, is expanding its library with four exciting new series. According to the official announcement made on March 30, 2026, the series Suicide Island, Babanba Banban Vampire, Asobi Asobase, and Forget-Me-Not will meet readers in English for the first time in the fall and winter of 2026. This move is of great importance, especially for bringing cult works that have long been awaited for translation into Western languages to light.
One of the most notable names on the list, Suicide Island (Jisatsutou), bears the signature of the master Kouji Mori, known for the Holyland series. This 17-volume survival drama focuses on the struggle for life on a deserted island where individuals who have attempted suicide are sent by the state. Kouji Mori is also known as a master of stories with high psychological depth, recognized for leading the continuation of the Berserk series following the passing of his close friend Kentaro Miura.
For comedy lovers, the news of Rin Suzukawa's absurd humor masterpiece Asobi Asobase (Workshop of Fun) has arrived. The series, which turned into a global phenomenon with its anime adaptation released in 2018, tells the strange and often chaotic adventures of three middle school girls in the "Pastimers Club" they founded. Dark Horse announced that it will publish this series starting November 17, 2026, in a special "omnibus" format that collects three volumes in one.
The other two announced series are also quite ambitious in their respective genres. Babanba Banban Vampire, written by Hiromasa Okujima, is a supernatural comedy that tells the story of a 450-year-old vampire working in a public bathhouse. The series, which made a big splash in Japan in 2025 with both an anime and a live-action film, will hit shelves on November 10, 2026. Finally, Forget-Me-Not, a single-volume mystery/slice-of-life work by Kenji Tsuruta, known for works such as Spirit of Wonder and Emanon, will be on the radar of collectors with the artist's mesmerizing drawing style.
These new licenses show that Dark Horse Comics is investing not only in classic seinen works but also in modern comedy and supernatural genres. While the English editions are expected to be offered in both physical and digital formats, the accessibility of works by master names such as Kouji Mori and Kenji Tsuruta has created great excitement in the community, especially for collectors.
