Jujutsu Kaisen Ranks 2nd on List of Best-Selling Adult Graphic Novels in the US for July

Jujutsu Kaisen rose to 2nd place on Bookscan's July 2026 adult graphic novel list in the US. According to Anime News Network, a total of 18 manga volumes appeared in the top 20 of the list. This situation once again highlights the strong performance of the manga industry in the US market.

The list also included series such as One Piece, Chainsaw Man, Demon Slayer, Blue Lock, Steel Ball Run (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure), Witch Hat Atelier, Gachiakuta, The Summer Hikaru Died, and The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't a Guy at All. In particular, Jujutsu Kaisen's success shows that the series' popularity continues despite ending in 2023. The series created by Gege Akutami was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2018 to 2024 and has sold over 90 million copies worldwide.

Bookscan data is considered an important source tracking physical book sales. The fact that manga volumes occupy such a large space in the adult graphic novel category reveals that the manga readership is not limited to young people, but there is also strong demand among adult readers. Especially Jujutsu Kaisen's 2nd place ranking is an indication of how beloved the series is globally, both its anime adaptation and its manga.

This list can be seen as a reflection of the growth of the manga industry in the US. In recent years, manga sales have reached record levels, partly due to the influence of digital platforms. The increased interest, especially during the pandemic period, has expanded the share of manga volumes in the graphic novel market. Jujutsu Kaisen's success on this list also raises expectations regarding the series' new season or spin-off projects. Fans continue to eagerly await Akutami's future projects and possible continuation stories for the series.
