New Series Added to Kodansha's K Manga Platform: Takuma Yokota's Beloved Work Now Available!

Kodansha's official digital platform K Manga has excited its readers by adding two major titles to its library. As of March 30, 2026, the series added to the platform include the highly acclaimed work by master artist Takuma Yokota, The Klutzy Class Monitor and the Girl with the Short Skirt (Ponkotsu Fūkiiin to Sukāto Take ga Futekisetsu na JK no Hanashi), and the popular isekai series The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a Second Lease on Life. This move is seen as part of Kodansha's strategy to strengthen its digital presence in the global market.
Takuma Yokota is an artist with a unique style, known in the manga world for cult classics such as Onani Master Kurosawa and Straighten Up! Welcome to Shika High's Competitive Dance Club. The newly added The Klutzy Class Monitor and the Girl with the Short Skirt has reached 20 volumes since it began in Monthly Shōnen Sirius magazine in March 2019. The series follows the amusing relationship between Tougo Sakuradaimon, an overly serious disciplinary committee member, and Poemu Kohinata, a gyaru student who violates school rules. Furthermore, the fact that the anime adaptation of this series, produced by Zero-G studio, is set to premiere on April 6, 2026, makes the addition of the manga to the platform even more significant for fans.
The other major addition, The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a Second Lease on Life, draws attention with its unique perspective on the isekai genre. Adapted from Asa Rokushima's web novel and illustrated by Gyōmuyōmochi, this manga tells the story of a mage who is fired from his party but proves how indispensable he actually is with his ability to grant items special powers. The manga version is known to have gained great popularity among Japanese readers for its narrative and character depth, which differ from the original light novel. It was previously announced that an anime adaptation by P.A. Works studio is also on the way for this series.
Launched in the US in May 2023 and subsequently expanding to countries such as Canada, Australia, and Singapore, K Manga currently hosts over 500 titles. The platform is increasing its diversity by adding such niche yet high-quality series alongside giants like Attack on Titan and Blue Lock. For readers, being able to access official translations simultaneously or very close to the release dates in Japan has become one of the greatest alternatives to piracy. In the coming period, Kodansha is expected to continue expanding its global reach by adding more series to its digital library.
