The manga That Time I Got Reincarnated in PES (Tensei Shitara Winning Eleven Datta Ken), created by Kiminori Wakasugi—one of the most unique pens in the manga world—in collaboration with Konami's world-famous football series eFootball (formerly known as Pro Evolution Soccer / PES), has completed its publication run. The series, which began with great anticipation on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket service on April 9, 2026, bid farewell to its readers with its final chapter published on April 30.
Known as the creator of the cult series Detroit Metal City (DMC), Kiminori Wakasugi blended the popular "isekai" (reincarnation in another world) theme of recent years with football gaming culture in this new project. The story followed the main character as he suddenly found himself inside the legendary Master League mode of the PES game. Shaped by Wakasugi's absurd sense of humor, the manga quickly managed to attract attention with its structure that poked fun at game mechanics, patches, and community jokes.
