The Hated Prince with Maxed-Out Execution Flags Starts Over Manga Concludes: Prince Arthur's Story Ends

Another farewell news has arrived in the manga world. Written by Kei Takano and garnering significant interest, the manga adaptation of the novel series Shokei Flag Mansai no Kiraware Ōji no Yarinaoshi (The Hated Prince with Maxed-Out Execution Flags Starts Over) has officially concluded. The series, brought to life by Tatsuichi Fuchika's illustrations, ended its publication run with its final chapter published in the June issue of Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Rex magazine.
This short but impressive adaptation, which began in January 2025, concluded after an adventure of approximately one and a half years. The story revolves around Arthur Pendragon, the second prince of Britannia, who was executed by guillotine during a popular revolution. Immediately after his execution, Arthur opens his eyes five years in the past, when he was still a child. Thanks to a mysterious diary in his possession and the "Good Deed Points" he earned, he tries to change his fate and escape his terrible end. Arthur's initially selfish struggle for survival eventually leads him to become a beloved "Holy King" by his people.
Another important detail for fans of the series is the status of the collected volumes. Ichijinsha announced that the third and final collected volume of the manga will be released in Japan on June 26, 2026. The original work began as a web novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2023 and was published as a three-volume light novel series under Micro Magazine's GC Novels imprint. The manga adaptation successfully visualized the core elements of the novel, managing to expand the series' fanbase.
This finale marks an important turning point, especially for readers who enjoy "villain/prince" themed fantasy stories.
