VIZ Media Announces Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, Slam Dunk Deluxe Edition, and Other Exciting Manga for Spring 2027
The major North American manga publisher VIZ Media has announced an impressive lineup for the spring 2027 season. The announcements include the print version of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, Slam Dunk Deluxe Edition, Taizan5's psychological thriller manga The Ichinose Family's Deadly Sins, and Inoue's cheerful yuri romance Gal x Gal Yuri. These new licenses show VIZ Media's focus on both legendary series and fresh stories.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo stands out as a spin-off of Gege Akutami's massively popular main series. Although the original series ended in 2024, fans are still not satiated with the sorcery world. While details of Modulo have not yet been disclosed, such spin-offs typically focus on side characters and fill gaps in the main story. Slam Dunk, on the other hand, is Takehiko Inoue's unforgettable basketball-themed work. The Deluxe Edition targets collectors with features like larger size, high-quality paper, and color pages. The original series left its mark in the 1990s, and this new edition will appeal to both those seeking nostalgia and a new generation of readers.
Another notable release is The Ichinose Family's Deadly Sins. Taizan5, previously known for Takopi's Original Sin, is publishing this new series in Weekly Shonen Jump. The manga, with its family secrets and dark psychological themes, adds genre diversity to VIZ Media's Jump licenses. On the other hand, Gal x Gal Yuri is a sweet girl-friendship story by Inoue. This cheerful series about two young girls getting closer aims to expand the English readership of the yuri genre. All these releases are planned for spring 2027.
