A Dazzling Neon Collection for The Summer Hikaru Died: Where Anime World Meets Street Fashion!

Mokumokuren’s globally acclaimed work The Summer Hikaru Died (Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu), which left its mark on screens with its anime adaptation last year, has signed a new collaboration that will excite its fans. The series has joined forces with the popular design brand neneon to prepare a special product collection where neon colors and modern aesthetics take center stage. Opened for pre-order via the ANIMATION ADDICT STORE as of May 14, this collection blends the series' dark atmosphere with vibrant colors.
Among the most striking pieces in the collection are acrylic keychains that reflect the supernatural and uncanny sides of the characters. In particular, the designs featuring the "dorodoro" (slimy/fluid) effect, which leaks from the character Hikaru and is familiar to fans of the series, make a stylish reference to the story's horror elements. Dominated by neon pink, green, and blue tones, these products are designed not just as anime merchandise, but also as stylish accessories that can be used in daily life.
So, why is this series receiving so much attention? Created by Mokumokuren, The Summer Hikaru Died has been taking the manga world by storm since it began on the Young Ace Up platform in 2021. Selected as the number one work in the male readers category in the "Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2023" list, the work tells the tense and emotional relationship between Yoshiki and his best friend Hikaru, who went missing on a mountain and returned, but is no longer "the same person." The manga, which has sold over 2 million copies, was adapted into an anime by the CygamesPictures studio in the summer of 2025 and received great acclaim for its atmospheric storytelling.
