A Special Exhibition by OshiBudo Creator Auri Hirao: A "Girls"-Themed Art Feast in Tokyo

Auri Hirao, one of the beloved names in the manga world, is preparing for a massive exhibition in Tokyo to celebrate her works focusing on "girls" and the special bonds between them. This special event, titled "Girls, by Auri Hirao", will take place in the heart of Tokyo, Ikebukuro, from June 5 to June 17, 2026. The exhibition marks the first major event for Atelier LILIUM, a next-generation book cafe featuring a massive library dedicated to the yuri (girls' love) genre.
Within the scope of the exhibition, fans will have the opportunity to closely examine original and reproduction drawings from her globally acclaimed works, primarily Oshi ga Budokan Ittekuretara Shinu (If My Favorite Pop Idol Makes It to the Budokan, I Would Die), as well as Manga no Tsukurikata, Neon Fish, and Joshu ni wa Rekishi ga Arimashite. Additionally, new illustrations prepared exclusively for this exhibition will be unveiled for the first time. The most exciting part of the event will be the live drawing and autograph session to be held on June 6. Applications for these special sessions, which only 60 lucky fans can attend, will be conducted via a lottery system.
Starting her career by winning the Ryujin Award in 2007, Auri Hirao is best known for her OshiBudo series, which addresses idol culture and fan loyalty in a humorous yet deeply emotional language. Running from 2015 to 2025, this series inspired an anime, a live-action series, a feature film, and in 2026, a stage play. The realism in Hirao's character designs and the depth of her characters' inner worlds have earned her a unique place in the modern manga world.
